The Herbfarm is a world-class fine dining experience where our food follows the seasons. Our feet are on the ground and we usually have a sense of humor. We are the only 5-diamond restaurant west of Chicago and north of San Francisco. That said, we are also the only restaurant serving 9-course meals where guests can visit and feed our pet piggies during dinner.
This Cook position will assist in prepping and cooking extra-ordinary 9-course meals featuring seasonal, regional ingredients, and, of course—herbs. Work as team with other cooks who are passionate, creative, and driven to create the best every day.
Mostly Wednesday through Sunday. You will be involved in all kitchen tasks from vegetable prep to harvesting herbs, plating, line cook, clean-up, etc. Assist on farm--weeding, planting, harvesting, etc. in season. Open kitchen so it must always be in order—calm, pleasant, and immaculate.
Menu themes change everything 3-4 weeks requiring the entire menu to change as well. We also respond to daily/weekly farm harvest and courses change daily in small to large ways. Flexibility is important.Cooking from the heart and soul with discipline.
The person who will succeed in this position must be interested in constant self-challenge to grow and learn in the art of fine dining working closely with a team who does the same. Our menu themes change every two to three weeks so the 9-course menu usually changes completely with the themes. Fine dining pastry/candy/baking skills a plus.

Mostly Wednesday through Sunday. Approximate schedule as follows: Wedensday 10-5. Thursday thru Saturday 1p to 11p. Sunday 11a-9p. Schedules set weekly. Expect 30-40 hours consistently, year 'round.
